As follow up to their recent research report on Empathetic Leadership, goBeyondProfit has released a three-part video series offering business executive insights on common workplace practices and perspectives that hinder all employees, but in particular Black employees, from peak performance.

The three-part series, Leading a Thriving Workplace with Race in Mind, features expert discussions on relevant topics such as unconscious bias and blind spots as well as business-tested strategies for those executives interested in creating a company culture that retains talent and enables their people to contribute fully. Offering easily accessible content, each video in the series is ideally suited for C-suite executives and Boards as well as people managers seeking an understanding of some issues that often disrupt employee satisfaction and productivity.

The series features conversations with accomplished employment lawyer and President of EPIQ Consulting, Darah Okeke, Esq., and workplace diversity expert, educator and VP of Human Resources at Jackson Healthcare, Matthew Harrison, Ph.D.

The videos are available free online at gobeyondprofit.org/leading-a-thriving-workplace/ . Three segments, each between 15 and 36 minutes long, include Impact of Racial Inequity at Work, Beyond Bias & Blind Spots, and Action Steps to a Diverse Workplace.

goBeyondProfit helps leaders embrace generosity through empathetic leadership, caring culture and strategic giving.  The racial conversations and events of 2020 raised workplace equity onto the agenda for two, if not all three, aspects of generous leadership.

“Effective, empathetic CEOs value expert perspective and know that with new understanding comes the grounding for successful strategies,” said goBeyondProfit President Megan McCamey. “Conversations on race can be intimidating. We hope these videos provide new insight as well as practical ideas to help CEOs care for their people.”
