Brunswick Adds to Labor Force Starting in February

Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said Thursday that Brunswick added to its labor force in February. 

According to preliminary data, the three-county metropolitan statistical area (MSA) also showed a jump in employment for the month and the year.

In Brunswick, the unemployment rate remained unchanged in February, staying at 3.5 percent. A year ago, the rate was 3.8 percent.

The labor force increased in February by 406 and ended the month with 52,626. That number is up 345 when compared to February of 2019

Brunswick ended February with 44,000 jobs. That number increased by 300 from January to February, and remained flat over the year.

Brunswick finished the month with 50,809 employed residents.  That number increased by 409 over the month and is up by 534 when compared to the same time a year ago.

The number of unemployment claims went down by about 34 percent in February. When compared to last February, claims were down by about 22 percent.
