The Children’s Center Thanks Kiwanis Club of Hilton Head for Continued Support

Tuesday, April 6th, 2021

The Children’s Center, a nonprofit organization, received a generous donation from the Kiwanis Club of Hilton Head. The Kiwanis Club of Hilton Head has been supporting The Children’s Center along with other local youth charities and initiatives for over 45 years. The Children’s Center would like to thank Kiwanis President Chief Bradley Tadlock and former Children’s Center Board Member Dick Wiles for their philanthropy.

The Kiwanis Club’s most recent donation will enable The Children’s Center to continue serving families in need of early education services and high-quality childcare for their children. “We fulfill a crucial need in our community”, Executive Director Jody Levitt says. The Children’s Centers is the only early education organization on the island providing a sliding scale fee structure making a high-quality preschool education accessible to working families.

The Children’s Centers’ multicultural, bilingual early childhood education program is provided five days a week, year-round, from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Children receive breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack to feed their bodies, but more importantly, they receive educational building blocks built on a foundation of love empowering them to succeed long after their preschool years are over.

This year alone, The Children’s Center has served over 125 children and families, and has assisted students in the wake of the COVID-19 virus as they navigated a new virtual school environment.
