Southeast Georgia Health System Volunteer Servicesrecently announced Sue Ashmore as the Brunswick Campus Spring Volunteer of the Quarter and Linda Jordan as the Camden Campus Spring Volunteer of the Quarter.

Ashmore began volunteering in the Gift Shop in 2017. During the past four months she has been instrumental in the successful implementation of the new point of sale system at the Brunswick and Camden Campus Gift Shops. Ashmore has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Science in Business Administration, so not only does she have the background and experience to help with this project, she also loves the process. “That’s my jam,” exclaims Ashmore.

“Sue has logged over 250 hours during the past four months, from home and in the Gift Shops, inputting existing and new inventory,” says Peggy Tuten, president, Brunswick Campus Volunteer Services. “Her help has been truly invaluable and greatly appreciated.”

Before joining the Health System Volunteer Services, Ashmore volunteered as a docent at the St. Simons Lighthouse and shared her skills in the Jekyll Island Center office. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her siblings and traveling.

Jordan began volunteering at the Gift Shop on the Camden Campus in 2019. “Linda has been a wonderful addition to the Gift Shop team,” says Deana Belcher, president, Camden Campus Volunteer Services. “She is dedicated, reliable and is very supportive to the rest of the team.”

Jordan has a background in accounting and was the bookkeeper at Murray Ford for many years. She is currently the bookkeeper at Our Lady Star of the Sea where she attends church. Jordan was recently installed as the 2021-2023 treasurer for the Camden Campus Volunteer Services board.

In her spare time, Jordan enjoys reading, cooking (especially desserts) and reupholstering furniture. She is currently teaching herself how to play the piano.

More than 250 volunteers generously share their time and talents to assist patients, visitors, and team members at the Southeast Georgia Health System Brunswick and Camden campuses and the Senior Care Centers in Brunswick and St. Marys.
