The Tybee Island Marine Science Center is hosting a special event on
Tuesday, May 23 at 6PM, at 37 Meddin Drive to celebrate World Turtle Day. This special day
was created to celebrate and protect turtles and their habitats worldwide. 

Celebrate with the Tybee Island Marine Science Center by joining a Coastal Waves Series
program and discovering the turtles that inhabit our area’s marshes. Dr. Craven, a sea turtle
biologist from Georgia Southern University, will enhance your understanding of diamondback
terrapin turtles. Get a closer look at this unique species by holding a hatchling! Cost is $25 per
person ($20 for member of the Center). Registration is still open for the event at
