Georgia Fifth Cheapest State for Starbucks Coffee

  • Maine is the cheapest state for a Starbucks coffee, according to new data, with an average price of $4.44 per cup. 

  • Maryland and Virginia rank second and third, respectively, for the cheapest coffee at Starbucks.  

  • Vermont is the most expensive state, pricing their Starbucks coffee at $5.73 per cup on average.  

A new study has revealed that Maine is the cheapest state to grab a Starbucks coffee.  

The research, conducted by the price-monitoring website Pricelisto, looked at the price of a coffee from the popular franchise to find which states were the cheapest and most expensive on average. 

Maine topped the list as the cheapest state to grab a Starbucks coffee, with an average price of $4.44. The Pine Tree state is home to several franchised locations including Portland, Bangor, and Auburn. 

Following in a close second is Maryland, where an average Starbucks will cost coffee lovers a reasonable $4.47 per drink, while Virginia, places third, where the average price is $4.63. 

Delaware appeared fourth in the ranking, with Starbucks costing $4.64, and Georgia featured fifth, priced at $4.68.

In addition to the cheapest Starbucks coffees, the ranking also revealed the most expensive states for a caffeine boost.  

Vermont was found to be the most expensive state to get a coffee at Starbucks, averaging $5.73 per cup.  

Wyoming is the second most expensive at $5.72 per coffee, while South Dakota is the third most costly at $5.27.  

Speaking on the findings, a spokesperson for Pricelisto said:   

“Price differences for products like Starbucks coffee across different states can be intriguing to look at.  

“A reason why prices may differ could be due to states having higher sales taxes or additional levies on certain goods, which can affect the final price consumers pay for their coffee.   

“Another important factor for price variations is the difference in the cost of living among states. States with higher costs of living, such as California or New York, tend to have higher prices for goods and services, including coffee.”
