Kason Industries Partners with Cherry Street Energy to Power Operations with Solar Energy
Monday, April 6th, 2026
Cherry Street Energy, the Southeast’s leading provider of on-site solar power for commercial and institutional customers, announced a new energy partnership with Kason Industries, Inc. The hardware and accessories manufacturer will soon support operations at its Newnan, Georgia, facility with on-site energy, becoming the latest customer to join Cherry Street's growing distributed energy network.
Kason has entered into a 20-year renewable energy agreement with Cherry Street Energy to supply electricity generated directly at its manufacturing facility. The project supports Kason’s ongoing sustainability initiatives by integrating on-site renewable energy into its operations. The solar energy system will be developed as part of Cherry Street Energy’s distributed generation network and is expected to offset approximately 24 percent of the facility’s annual energy use. By producing electricity where it is consumed, the system helps reduce reliance on grid-supplied power while advancing Kason’s commitment to responsible energy management. Cherry Street Energy will finance, own, operate, and maintain the system for the duration of the agreement, delivering the electricity produced to Kason through a long-term power purchase arrangement. The partnership allows Kason to incorporate renewable energy into its operations while strengthening long-term energy resilience and supporting its broader environmental goals.
“Improving the sustainability of our operations is an important part of how we plan for the future of Kason. By working with Cherry Street Energy to implement on-site solar generation at our Newnan facility, we’re taking a practical step toward lowering our operational emissions while supporting more stable, long-term energy planning,” said Kevin Rowland, Vice President of Operations at Kason. “Partnerships like this help us advance our environmental goals while continuing to deliver the reliable, high-quality products our customers depend on and supporting the broader community where we live and work.”
Founded in 1926, Kason is committed to producing durable, high-quality industrial hardware and accessories for customers across the refrigeration, food service and truck body industries. With this new partnership, Kason will further align its manufacturing excellence with responsible energy practices that support long-term resilience and growth.
“Kason has a long legacy of quality manufacturing and industry-leading innovation,” said Michael Chanin, CEO of Cherry Street Energy. “By welcoming them into our distributed energy network, Cherry Street helps further this legacy. We deliver a comprehensive power solution that provides cost certainty and operational stability.”
As a dedicated power provider, Cherry Street's infrastructure will offset a meaningful portion of Kason’s energy use, generate reliable and predictable electricity at competitive rates and support the company’s organizational mission in the long term.
