At a time when news content is dominated by heart-wrenching and alarming stories, students at the College of Coastal Georgia just received some much-needed good news.

Coastal Georgia announced today that students enrolled in the summer 2020 semester will receive a cost savings of as much as $500 each. All College of Coastal Georgia classes will be offered to all students at the in-state tuition rate, the College having decided to waive the traditionally higher online tuition rate and the out-of-state tuition rate. In addition, the College is waiving nearly all fees for the summer term; enrolled students will only have to pay a general institutional fee and a technology fee.

In addition, Fall 2020 tuition and fees will remain the same as they were for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Having long been one of the state's and the nation's most affordable colleges, today's news means that Coastal Georgia will be an even more affordable option for students this summer. The College is still accepting applications for its summer term. Courses are open to current students, new students, students enrolled at other Colleges, and high school students who qualify for the dual enrollment program.

"We are committed to providing an accessible, affordable, high-quality education for our students. In these times of uncertainty when financial hardships are affecting so many across our region and our nation, I am pleased to be able to provide some good news for our students," said Coastal Georgia President Michelle Johnston. "Our mission is student success. For students to be successful, they need to be able to afford to take classes and remain on track for graduation. We are doing everything we can to make sure that happens."
