Georgia Power has launched a new community electric vehicle (EV) charger at Striplings at 2304 Glynn Ave. Brunswick, GA 31520.

The EV charger is available for use starting today – just in time for travel to the coast this Labor Day Weekend – with complimentary charging through October 2nd. The new charger is strategically located just before the causeway road to St. Simon’s Island.

As part of a statewide initiative to enable EV adoption and connect communities, Georgia Power is building a network of safe, reliable, and convenient charging infrastructure for an ever-growing market segment of drivers. The new EV chargers in Brunswick are the 52nd Direct Current (DC) Fast Chargers that the company has launched across the state and fills a vital charging gap in the area.

Charging sessions require ChargePoint authorization, which is available at www.georgiapower.chargepoint.com

The installation represents the newest technology in EV fast chargers, offering charging speeds up to 125kW – adding 100 miles in 12 minutes – dual dispensers and power sharing capability. Georgia Power has installed chargers in several cities including Rome, Columbus, Cleveland, Lavonia, Kingsland, Tifton, Forest Park and Milledgeville.
