Southeast Georgia Health System Volunteer Services recently announced Ed Kehoe as the Brunswick Campus Winter Volunteer of the Quarter and David Costa as the Camden Campus Winter Volunteer of the Quarter.

A FLETC retiree, Kehoe joined Volunteer Services in 2008 and assisted in the Admissions department until the 2020 suspension of Volunteer Services due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He returned in 2021 and now volunteers with the Patient Experience department, rounding on patients to identify their concerns or compliments to help ensure their Health System experience is a positive one.

Kehoe and his wife, Valerie, live on St. Simons Island and are members of St. Williams Catholic Church. When he isn’t volunteering at the Health System, he assists with church activities, such as Hugs for Haiti. He and his wife also enjoy traveling to see their children and grandchildren.

Costa has volunteered in the Camden Campus Outpatient Rehabilitation Care Center since 2021, lending his time and skills to help patients and team members. According to the Rehabilitation team members, “Through his hard work and dedication, David has built a reputation as a reliable and compassionate volunteer who always goes above and beyond in his service to others. He often volunteers extra days during the week when he knows a team member will be out. It is clear that David genuinely cares about making a positive impact through his volunteer work.”

Costa and his wife, Diane, reside in St. Marys. They are members of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church where he volunteers as an usher and with other church activities. Costa is a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion and volunteers in other capacities within the community.

More than 150 volunteers generously share their time and talents to assist patients, visitors, and team members at the Southeast Georgia Health System Brunswick and Camden campuses, as well as the Senior Care Centers in Brunswick and St. Marys.
