LiveOak Fiber, a regional broadband service provider, is proud to announce the appointment of Shane Schilling as Chief Operating Officer. President and CEO of LiveOak, Jody Craft, made the announcement to employees earlier this month, citing Schilling’s exemplary leadership, technical expertise, and unwavering dedication to delivering broadband to underserved communities.
In his new role as COO, Shane Schilling brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in large scale fiber deployments. Having previously served as Chief Technology Officer at LiveOak since April 2023, Schilling has been instrumental in driving innovation and operational excellence within the company. With his extensive background in managing telecommunications networks and overseeing various aspects of back-office systems, corporate IT, cyber security, fiber construction, and service delivery, Schilling is well-equipped to lead LiveOak into its next phase of growth and expansion.
“I’m thrilled to take on the role of Chief Operating Officer at LiveOak and continue our mission of delivering the digital infrastructure and connectivity to the communities we serve,” said Schilling. “LiveOak’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction aligns perfectly with my own values, and I look forward to contributing to the company’s ongoing success.”
Schilling’s credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in software development. Additionally, he has completed prestigious executive leadership programs at both the Thayer Executive Leadership Program at West Point and the Executive Management Program at the MIT Sloan School of Business. His diverse background and commitment to continuous learning make him a valuable asset to the LiveOak team.
LiveOak has plans to scale significantly over the next 18-24 months in order to reach more communities across the Southeast. With Schilling now as COO, he will be able to help the company achieve these goals with his ability to drive operational excellence and strategic growth initiatives.
“Shane has been an invaluable member of the LiveOak team, and his leadership qualities and technical expertise make him the ideal candidate for the role of COO,” said Craft. “I have no doubt that under Shane’s guidance, LiveOak will continue to thrive and exceed expectations in delivering exceptional services to our customers.”
