The Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) has announced the approval of Georgia's application for the Digital Equity Capacity grant. This will allow the Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) to allocate the $22.45 million that the State is receiving from this program to implement key initiatives that include:

• Increasing broadband internet adoption. 

• Enhancing digital literacy and practical skills for safe online interaction. 

• Expanding access to devices and 

• Providing Digital Navigators to assist community members in accessing services.

With the resources and financial support from available grant funds, the state can tackle connectivity challenges directly. This will create opportunities for educational advancement, economic success, improved health, and stronger social connections, enabling full participation in the digital economy.
