Southeast Georgia Health System is proud to announce its participation in Donate Life 2024, a campaign dedicated to raising awareness about organ donation and encouraging individuals to register as donors.

With thousands of people across the country waiting for life-saving organ and tissue transplants, the Health System recognizes the critical need for more organ donors. Through the Donate Life 2024 campaign, the Health System aims to inspire community members to consider the life-saving impact they can have by registering as organ donors.

“Organ and tissue donation provide the gift of life to tens of thousands of people each year through heart, kidney, lung, liver, pancreas, cornea or intestine transplants,” says Jan Jones, RN, BSN, director, Patient Care Services, Southeast Georgia Health System. “Without selfless organ donors, thousands of people – many who live among us – will die. Becoming a donor gives us the power to save lives.”

Residents can join Georgia’s state organ and tissue donor registry in a variety of ways:

  • While obtaining/renewing a driver’s license or identification card at a local driver’s license office.
  • While obtaining a hunting, fishing or trapping license through the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
  • By calling Donate Life Georgia directly at 1-866-57-SHARE (1-866-577-4273) and requesting a registry card.

LifeLink of Georgia is a non-profit organization committed to serving our community by facilitating the recovery of organs and tissues for transplantation. For inquiries about organ and tissue donation, please visit LifeLinkFoundation.org or call 800-544-6667.
