Creativity, community and a little friendly competition are coming together once again for the Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation’s annual ARTrageous Bras fundraiser.

Individuals, businesses and community groups are invited to transform an ordinary bra into an extraordinary work of art—all while supporting breast cancer awareness and care programs at Southeast Georgia Health System.

From clever themes and colorful embellishments to heartfelt tributes, each one-of-a-kind design is inspired by hope, strength and survivorship.

“ARTrageous Bras is one of those special events that brings so much personality and creativity to an important cause,” says Bryan Thompson, director, Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation. “Every bra tells a story, whether it celebrates a survivor, honors someone special or simply reminds women in our community about the importance of their breast health.”

Ready to Get ARTrageous?

Participants decorate an official ARTrageous bra provided by the Foundation and are encouraged to let their imaginations run wild. Designs can be funny, glamorous, meaningful or completely outrageous.

All decorated bras must be returned to the Foundation by 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18.

Throughout October, the decorated bras will be displayed on the Health System’s Brunswick and Camden campuses and featured in the Foundation’s online ARTrageous Bras gallery.

Community members can support their favorite designs by casting $1 votes throughout the month. Each vote raises funds while helping determine which bras advance to the live auction.

From Creative Competition to First Friday

The competition will culminate during First Friday, Nov. 6, in Historic Downtown Brunswick, when ARTrageous Bras takes center stage for an evening of fun and fundraising.

The 10 bras receiving the most votes during the October competition will advance to the live auction, giving attendees the opportunity to bid on the community’s favorite creations. The remaining bras will be featured in a silent auction, ensuring every design has another opportunity to raise funds.
