Monday, November 2nd, 2026
Southeast Georgia Health System has been recognized for its commitment to using technology to improve patient care, earning Level 7 in the Ambulatory category of the 2026 Digital Health Most Wired Survey. This achievement places the Health System among health care organizations demonstrating advanced use of digital technology to support safe, high-quality outpatient care.
The annual survey, conducted by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), evaluates how health care organizations use technology to improve patient safety, quality of care and daily operations. Among the more than 44,000 facilities represented in this year's survey, Southeast Georgia Health System distinguished itself by ranking above peers in key areas, including clinical quality and safety, cybersecurity, data management, population health, infrastructure, patient engagement and innovation.
Southeast Georgia Health System has made significant investments in technology to create a more connected, secure and reliable digital environment for its team members, clinicians and patients.
“By strengthening our core infrastructure, improving access to timely information and equipping our care teams with dependable digital tools, we are building the foundation for safer, more efficient and more personalized care,” says Susan Ibanez, DHA, FACHE, CHCIO, CDH-E, Chief Information Officer, Southeast Georgia Health System.
One of those investments focused on improving network reliability across the Brunswick and Camden campuses.
“This year, we strengthened our technology infrastructure by replacing core network switches, firewalls and edge switches,” Ibanez adds. “These improvements help keep one campus's systems running if the other experiences a network outage. This reduces the risk of disruptions to patient care and helps our teams continue providing the care our patients need.”
As health care technology continues to advance, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI) are playing increasingly important roles in how care is delivered. Protecting sensitive patient information, strengthening digital security and exploring new technologies are helping health care organizations adapt to changing needs and improve how they operate.
The recognition reflects Southeast Georgia Health System's ongoing commitment to investing in technology that supports its care teams, protects patient information and improves the patient experience.
