Ed Elkins of Norfolk Southern Discusses Georgia Chamber's Upcoming Georgia 2050 Tour

Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer for Norfolk Southern and 2025 Georgia Chamber Chair Ed Elkins discusses the positive momentum happening at the Georgia Chamber and provides insights into what you can expect from the Georgia 2050 Tour.

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce announced that Douglas will host the first Georgia|2050tour on April 1 at the Martin Centre 109 E Ashley St at 10:30 AM. This is the first of five confirmed host communities. The confirmed host communities and tour dates are available below. More host communities will be scheduled in the future.

During the tour, the Georgia Chamber will engage with business leaders in every corner of the state on how the Georgia Chamber is implementing Georgia|2050, a new five-year strategic plan to ensure Georgia remains a beacon of economic opportunity through 2050 and beyond.  

Georgia|2050 is built around five Prosperity Pillars: Talent and Workforce Preparedness, Infrastructure and Energy, Competitiveness and Economic Development, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Regional Prosperity and Healthy Communities. Over the next five years, all of the Georgia Chamber’s events, programs, policies, Foundation research, and advocacy will align with the Prosperity Pillars outlined in Georgia|2050.

The confirmed Georgia|2050 host communities are:  

  • April 1 in Douglas
  • May 28 in Dahlonega
  • June 3 in Statesboro
  • June 12 in West Point
