Southeast Georgia Health System Presents BEE Award to Jason Milton

Thursday, August 31st, 2023

Southeast Georgia Health System recently presented the BEE Award to Jason Milton, NREMT-P, in recognition of his willingness to always provide superior support to his peers. The BEE Award honors and recognizes team members outside of nursing who go Beyond Exceptional Expectations (BEE).

A paramedic at the Health System’s Camden Campus since 2019, Milton was nominated for the BEE Award by Chad Cline, RN, manager, Emergency Care Center (ECC), Camden Campus.

Excerpts from the nomination included, “The census was high and the department was full as night shift took over in the Camden ECC. Jason was the only paramedic and he was assigned to triage for the duration of his shift. Over the course of 12 hours, Jason continuously assisted in the back with patient care while monitoring triage. Multiple times while I was in patient rooms starting IV’s, answering call lights or performing other tasks, Jason came in with the supplies to perform the same tasks. He voluntarily took on patients, triaged throughout the night, and then assisted with stocking rooms prior to the end of his shift. His positive attitude, initiative, and willingness to assist wherever needed are attributes that directly improve patient care and productivity in this department. Jason deserves recognition beyond my appreciation for his hard work and value to the Camden ECC.”

Other team members agreed with Milton’s recognition, adding the following comments:

  • “He earned this award for continued superior performance, work ethic, personal sacrifice, initiative and reliable teamwork.”
  • “A consummate professional who humbly goes about his work shift by shift, hour by hour, patient by patient without any arrogance or air of arrogance…worthy of imitation!”

Milton was presented with a BEE Award plaque and certificate in front of his peers and Health System leadership. He also received a BEE pin, balloons, and honey danishes to share with his team.

Those eligible for the BEE Award include all Health System team members and volunteers outside of nurses (RNs and LPNs may receive the DAISY Award). These team members provide extraordinary experiences for Health System patients, their families and visitors by exemplifying quality service and extraordinary care.

Anyone may nominate a deserving team member for a BEE Award online at sghs.org/bee-award, or nominations may be placed in BEE boxes located throughout the Health System’s Brunswick and Camden campuses. A committee of Health System team members review the nominations and determine the BEE Award recipient(s).
